The Genesis of Dawg Bite

The idea of building a company around the Dawg Bite brand started in 2003 when the Founder’s (Ian Mellott) youngest daughter had her backpack accidently bitten by a neighbourhood dog on her way home from school.

Ian noticed a distinct bite mark on her book bag and thought it might be an interesting idea to build a brand around it. Fast forward 19 years and many iterations later, Ian built a business plan and conducted focus groups and quickly discovered that... he may be on to something!​
